Tentative Schedule of Events



Friday 09/17/10

8:30-9:30am - Event registration will be at the Nashwauk Recreation Complex. Pointer 1 on the map

10:00-1130am - VIP Ride (by invitation) will leave from the Complex and travel via local trails to Marble, MN, home of Range Riders founder Bob Cass.  Riders will return to Nashwauk by 2:00.  The ride will be guided by Club volunteers.

5:30-7:30pm - Range Riders will provide a meal concession at the Recreation Complex for any convention attendees who wish to eat there.  Menu will be Italian Beef, Bar-B-Que Pork, or Porketta sandwiches, chips, etc.  Local restaurants will also be open in town for those wishing a different menu.  Restaurants and grilles are all located on Central Avenue (Cty Rd 86) which is on the map. *Remember you can't ride your wheeler on Central Avenue, but you can approach on side streets.

3:00 - 6:00pm Nashwauk-Keewatin High School cheerleaders will provide an ATV wash at the Recreation Complex for a suggested donation of $5.00

5:30- 11:00pm - Jamm's Pub will provide a cash bar at the Recreation Complex for convention goers.  Music will be provided by a local DJ. 

10:00- 11:00pm - A bonfire will be lit on the south side of the Rec. Complex for evening fellowship. 

Saturday 09/18/10

7:00-9:00am - Breakfast will be served at St. Cecilia's Church by the local Knights of Columbus chapter.  Menu will include French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and milk.


8:00 - 9:00am - Question and answers on By-law at the Recreation Complex for those wishing to better understand the proposed new language that will be voted on at the 9:00 General Membership Meeting

9:00 - 11:30am General ATVAM meeting session will be held in the main area of the Recreation Complex.  Elections for President, First Vice President and Secretary.  Club and ATVAM President Updates.  We will also be voting on amendments to By-laws.  Range Riders will provide coffee, cold soft drinks, sandwich trays and condiments for session attendees.

10:30am - 5:30pm - Northern Traxx ATV Club of Chisholm will hold an ATV pull competition. It will be open to all ATV legal ATV riders.  Parental release is required for riders under 18, forms are provided on registration paperwork available at the site.  Spectators will pay $5 entrance fee, competitors will pay an additional $10 per competitive pull.  No extra weight or traction devices other than tires are allowed. Ties or run-outs will be re-pulled to determine winner (no fee).   Five Classes are established to even the competition between sizes and types of machines.  A $50 cash award will be made for the longest pull in each class.  Refreshments and toilet facilities will be available at the site. 



10:30am - 5:30pm Northern Helicopters will offer sight-seeing rides in their Robinson R-22 helos, starting from the School Bus garage (west entrance to town) at a cost of $35 per person.  This event will be open to the general public, so it may be busy.  Rides will be about 10 miles in length, and will provide an overview  of the City, the new mine/steel mill development, riding areas and former minelands to the south and the lake country areas.  Be sure to bring a camera!!

10:30 – 5:30pm Club members will provide guided rides for groups wishing to tour the riding areas in an organized manner.  Trails vary widely in difficulty, and may include some wet areas.  General free riding is also available, but use of a GPS with tracking function is strongly urged.  You can get lost out there!!  Some areas may be closed due to mining activity, so please obey all signs you may encounter on the trails. 



3:00 - 6:00pm NK Cheerleaders will again offer an ATV wash for a suggested donation of $5.00.

 
5:30 - 11:00pm - Wizard's Pub will provide a cash bar at the Recreation Complex for convention attendees.

5:30 - 7:00pm  Corey Mayer Catering will provide a buffet style banquet (cost included in registration) at the Recreation complex.  Menu will include Glazed Ham or Stuffed Chicken Breast, Golden Corn or Green Beans, Crab Salad or Tossed Salad, Rolls and Dessert.  Beverages will be coffee or tea, other beverages provided by Wizards Pub (cash bar), who will be set up in the building.


Legislative Update & DNR Udate

Auction
Auction items and raffle prizes will be available for inspection throughout the day Friday and Saturday at the Recreation Complex.  Raffle tickets will be available all day Saturday at the Rec. Complex up until the start of the Auction.

50/50 Raffle Tickets will be available through out the area Friday and Saturday piror to after dinner activities.

10:00 - 11:00pm - A Bonfire will be lit on the south side of the Rec. Complex for those wishing to attend.

Sunday 09/19/10

10:00 - 12:00pm -  ATVAM Board of directors meeting will be held at the Nashwauk City hall, in their Meeting Room. 

There are no other official or scheduled activities for Sunday.  The Convention venue will remain accessible until approximately 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon, September 19th.

Breakfast is available at the Corner Café which opens at 0600 on Sunday.  The Café is located across Third Street from City Hall, where the Board Meeting will be held.
